The first homeowners to take advantage of the Green Deal scheme after its proposed launch on 28th January 2013 will be able to apply for Cash Back payments under an initiative which the Government hopes will encourage homeowners to install Green Deal measures in their homes.
In order to apply for Cash Back a Green Deal Assessment has to be carried out on the property and if insulation has not already been done then this will be a requirement in order to apply for Cash Back for other measures.
This is in fact great news for homeowners interested in installing Green Deal measures as there is a Cash Back incentive in place for installing insulation! For example, if the Green Deal Assessor recommends you install loft insulation and replace a ‘G’ rated boiler with an ‘A’ rated boiler you could claim £100 Cash Back for installing loft insulation and £270 for replacing your boiler if the work is carried out by a Green Deal Installer.
